ILCO and SAFLOK Safes

Safes have certainly become a standard guestroom amenity. As they do with electronic locks, the majority of properties recognize the benefits of installing safes. To this end, both the SAFLOK and ILCO brands offer a complete line of in-room safes that feature impeccable construction, security, and safety. Today’s safes offer all the conveniences not available with safety deposit boxes. One of the most significant advantages of using an in-room safe is the audit trail feature that logs use-history. In fact digital audit capabilities are of greatest value in documenting all attempted and successful unlocking of the safe. This capability is particularly valuable in the event an article is lost.

ILCO Safe

SAFLOK and ILCO brand safes are available in 36 standard color combinations and five different sizes. By offering a large variety of color combinations, they are able to offer hoteliers a larger safe design palette. Each safe model can accommodate a standard laptop computer. The safes can be mounted in an armoire, on a shelf inside a closet, or on an optional floor mount pedestal that is securely affixed to the floor of the closet. Another option is ILCO’s flush-mounted wall safe that can be installed in a closet wall or other inconspicuous locations. Additionally, they offer various keying options such as keypads or credit cards swipes. Some safes also come with optional mechanical key override.

While design is a key aspect, SAFLOK and ILCO brands regard evolving technology for safes a more important attribute.

SAFLOK Safe

For example, SAFLOK has also introduced communication technology for safes. Working off a proprietary platform, the closet-mounted safes have a built-in capability that allows it to wirelessly/remotely communicate with the property management system each time a safe is in use. A radio frequency module is housed in the keypad, and a message is sent to the property management system when the code to open the safe is detected by the unit. Communication is transmitted on a frequency that is exclusively licensed by SAFLOK from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The guest is billed only for the days when the module detects that the safe code is in use.

Infinity by Elsafe
Infinity by Elsafe

The Infinity line of safes combines Danish design, an ergonomically curved profile and two-tone color schemes, with heavy-gauge construction built to last forever. Infinity’s unique modular concept and reprogrammable electronics allow hoteliers to easily customize safe features or upgrade to new technology by simply replacing the safe’s front panel. Infinity safes by Elsafe have passed the rigorous UL break-in test (1037 listing), and are available in two model types, digital and mag-stripe. Infinity Digital was developed based on feedback from thousands of properties worldwide showing that guests feel most secure with digital safe simplicity that allows them to choose their own personal four- or six-digit access code. Infinity Mag-stripe combines Elsafe’s world-renowned security with the simplicity of a credit card safe — one swipe and the safe is locked, swipe it again and it’s open.

Sentinel by Elsafe

Sentinel by Elsafe

With a range of high-security features including a new patent-pending locking mechanism, anti-tamper labyrinths and extended solid-steel hinges, Sentinel’s UL-listed units are among the most secure in-room safes in the world. Saflok’s DeskLinc

Saflok’s DeskLinc

DeskLinc is designed to offer the flexibility and function of a large-property front desk system. Using smart/memory card technology DeskLinc “converts” the employee’s keycard into a device that stores, carries and downloads information from the lock. It enables lock audit information, staff access and lock error codes to be tagged onto the smart cards. Locks may also be interrogated and programmed with special smart cards so users no longer have to load and take a special device to the lock to accomplish this task. This greatly reduces the liability and expense of having to specifically visit each individual lock to retrieve an audit trail. However when necessary, DeskLinc can download lock diagnostics at the door. DeskLinc features an enlarged backlit screen. It also features an extended sign-on function that allows users to remain logged in for extended periods. The system is capable of providing up to 11 independent keying levels that also includes a latch/unlatch and an emergency/security level. For more information, please visit www.saflok.com.
